Any resident with a state-approved qualifying condition can apply after receiving a physician recommendation. Patients under 18 require a designated caregiver. The state recognizes cards from other approved state programs.

Get an online evaluation from an approved physician through NuggMD, then submit the state application. Minors and those needing caregivers can include that in the state application process.

NuggMD charges only upon approval. There are no state fees to apply as a medical cannabis patient or caregiver in New Mexico. Cards remain valid for two years.

Cannabis remains federally illegal so many health insurance companies will not cover the costs associated with medical cannabis treatment.

Qualifying conditions include: Alzheimer's Disease, ALS, Anxiety Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cancer, Crohn's Disease, Spinal Cord Nerve Damage, Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder, Friedreich's Ataxia, Glaucoma, Hepatitis C (with antiviral therapy), HIV/AIDS, Hospice Care, Huntington's disease, Inclusion Body Myositis, Inflammatory Autoimmune-mediated Arthritis, Insomnia, Intractable Nausea/Vomiting, Lewy Body Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Opioid Use Disorder, Painful Peripheral Neuropathy, Parkinson's disease, PTSD, Severe Anorexia/Cachexia, Severe Chronic Pain, Spasmodic Torticollis (Cervical Dystonia), Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and Ulcerative Colitis.

You'll only be charged if you're approved for your medical marijuana certification. If not, your evaluation is free! A $10 processing fee applies if you cancel before evaluation. Refunds are available post-evaluation but before state submission, within 30 days. Contact support@nuggmd.com with 'Refund Request' as the subject line. Processing takes 3-5 business days.

New Mexico doesn't place any limits on types of medical marijuana products consumers can purchase. You can buy vapes, flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, tinctures, edibles, and more.

Adult use consumers can buy 2 ounces of flower, 16 grams of concentrate, or 800mg of edibles per transaction. Medical consumers may purchase up to 15 ounces of flower or the equivalent in one transaction or split up between several transactions, tax free, every three months. Purchases exceeding 15 ounces are subject to excise tax.

Recreational consumers may possess up to 2 ounces of flower equivalent in public. Medical patients can possess up to 15 ounces equivalent for transport home. There is no limit on cannabis possession at home so long as it is locked up and out of public view.

Yes, you can give away up to 2oz or the equivalent without any form of payment.

Generally no, though New Mexico does allow public consumption in businesses with a public consumption license.

Yes, New Mexico allows home delivery of both medical and adult use cannabis.

This depends on destination state rules. Each state has different rules regarding reciprocity, and some don't allow it at all.

Both adult use and medical consumers can grow their own cannabis. The limit is six mature plants and six immature plants.
